ICT & ELV Systems

Structured cabling, server rooms, CCTV, access control, intercom, nurse call and public address — with the containment that carries every data and security system.

Overview

The networks and security systems a modern building runs on

VAKRUM designs and installs ICT and extra-low-voltage (ELV) systems for offices, hotels, hospitals, schools and industrial sites across Uganda and East Africa.

We install the data network and the security systems together with the cable ladders, trays and containment that carry them, coordinated with the electrical and mechanical services so every system is neat, labelled and easy to maintain.

  • Copper and fibre structured cabling
  • IP CCTV, access control and intercom
  • Server rooms, racks and containment
  • Testing, labelling and documentation

Choosing network cabling

CableTypical useWhy choose it
Cat6Office desks, Wi-Fi points, CCTV camerasProven, cost-effective for most buildings
Cat6ANew buildings and high-bandwidth areasHigher speeds over longer runs, future-ready
Fibre (single / multi-mode)Backbones between floors and buildingsLong distances, very high capacity, no interference
How we deliver

From site survey to handover

  1. Site survey

Our engineers visit site, confirm the scope, measure up and review the architectural or MEP drawings.

  2. Design & calculations

System selection, calculations and sizing, then coordinated AutoCAD shop drawings, specifications and a priced BOQ.

  3. Approved equipment

Technical submittals for client and consultant approval, then sourcing, import and delivery of the approved brands.

  4. Installation

Supervised VAKRUM installation crews working to the approved drawings, with safe-work permits and daily site records.

  5. Testing & commissioning

Cable certification tests, camera and recording checks, access control and intercom functional tests and user training.

  6. Handover & support

As-built drawings, test reports and labelled schedules, then support, upgrades and maintenance.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose Cat6 or Cat6A cabling?

Cat6 is suitable for most offices today. Cat6A supports higher speeds over longer runs and is a better choice for new buildings expected to last many years or with high-bandwidth needs. Fibre is used for backbones between floors and buildings.

Can CCTV be viewed remotely?

Yes. IP CCTV systems can be viewed securely on phones and computers, with recording on site and storage planned for the number of days you need.

Can access control be linked to staff attendance?

Yes. Card and biometric access systems can record attendance and export it for payroll.

Do you install the cable containment as well?

Yes. We install the cable ladders, trays, trunking and riser supports together with the cabling, coordinated with the electrical and mechanical services.
